11:18 am - Bush Takes Responsibility for Fed response to Katrina
I was surprised when I saw this when I came online today:
"President Bush said Tuesday that ''I take responsibility'' for failures in dealing with Hurricane Katrina and said the disaster raised broader questions about the government's ability to respond to natural disasters as well as terror attacks.
''Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government,'' Bush said at joint White House news conference with the president of Iraq.
''To the extent the federal government didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility,'' Bush said.
The president was asked whether people should be worried about the government's ability to handle another terrorist attack given failures in responding to Katrina."
Wow. This is very impressive. I'm inclined to take back what I wrote the other day.

The week's been boring. I'm off to vacation for almost a month, and I'm so excited!
Other than that, I've been trying to plan things out for the next four years. An MD/PhD program is the only shot I have at my dream.

I delivered the valedictory address at my graduation today. Wow, what a relief that that entire ordeal is over! I'm going to miss my high school, and all my friends. I hope that I survive in liberal California!

I can't believe how I'm going to be at Stanford this fall. This is incredible! I'm so excited.
